Kids Sessions.

Ages 3-5

Breathing Together.

Teaching people to breathe is one of my passions and teaching kids is especially close to my heart. If you read my bio you’ll see it was my middle son who initally inspired me to try breathwork as a stratigy to help him regulate his BIG feelings. During our 30min kid sessions we will do a quick interactive meditation followed by breathing together. When I work with kids we do not practice connected breathing but rather a huge array of other breathing practices. Some examples include box breathing, coherence breathing, and many more.

These three in the photo were and continue to be the reason I decided to learn breathwork and mindfulness. It makes me a better mom to breath with my kids.

What to Expect.

Kids sessions are informal in that I do not expect kids to be quiet or hold still. I will start the kids off with an interactive meditation designed to bring their attention to their breathing a fun an accessible way. After that we will talk a bit about how everyone is feeling. We may use colors, cartoon faces, or even body movements to express how we are each feeling at the start of the session. Then, using those feelings as a prompt, we will start doing some breathing exercises designed to address specific feelings. This not only gives kids an opportunity to get to know their feelings better but encourages them to share their feelings and gives them tools to manage their feelings. After each breathing session, just like in adult sessions, we will have a chance to share how the breathing made us feel in our bodies. We will discuss if it has changed how we are feeling and also allow the kids time to describe what worked or didn’t work for them during the session. I will make every Inspired Breathworks session a safe space to share for children and adults alike. I also strongly encourage each childs adult to participate in the session. As parents we need all the deep breaths we can get too.

This is Jacky on the right. I know it is not exactly the most creative name. She is our family adventure mascot and an exceptionally good breathwork mascot as well!
